With each program or event, we aim to . . .
1. EMPOWER
We believe creating change also starts with empowering the community and individuals striving for change. We aim to provide support in this area by hosting career fairs, professional networking opportunities, and supporting small business owners and entrepreneurs.
2. INSPIRE
We aim to help individuals visualize and plan their path to success, by providing exposure to professionals from communities like theirs, various career fields, and educational opportunities. Our annual Celebrating Success Ceremony honors the achievements of high school and college graduates. While our Sister Chats inspire women to build confidence and find support from other members.
3. EDUCATE
SCWEN hosts annual events and programming that support academic and career success. Our Higher Education Forum has brought together hundreds of college and high school students over the years to learn about the college application process, hear from professionals from the same background, and build confidence in their future. We also host financial aid and college essay workshops, and an annual youth spelling bee. Soon, we will launch a SCWEN Leadership Program, as well as a Fellowship Program.
